2019 Ram 2500 Engine Lineup and Specifications
The 6.4-liter V8 engine pairs with a new fully-electronic ZF 8HP75 eight-speed automatic transmission with more than 40 individual shift maps for optimized performance, fuel economy and drivability. The 6.7-liter Cummins instead matches with a Corporate 68RFE six-speed automatic transmission, offering responsive performance and low noise, vibration and harshness.
6.4L HEMI® V8 Engine
The legendary 6.4-liter HEMI® V8 engine now comes standard on each model of the 2019 Ram 2500 lineup. With increased displacement and variable-cam timing, the engine continues to deliver best-in-class 410 horsepower, plus 429 lb.-ft. of torque. The standard setup features excellent acceleration, smooth transmission shifts and just the right amount of steering wheel resistance.
6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel I6 Engine
6.7-liter Cummins® Turbo Diesel 6-cylinder engine is available on Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn and Limited models. The optional powertrain setup produces an adrenaline-pumping 370 horsepower and 850 lb.-ft. of torque. When equipped with the legendary Cummins®, the Ram 2500 maxes out its payload capacity at 4,520 lbs. and towing at 19,370 lbs. For the 2019 model year, the engine option has been updated for better responsiveness and lower noise, vibration and harshness.
