What Are the Bed Lengths of the 2019 Ram 1500?
The all-new 2019 Ram 1500 offers three distinct bed lengths; however, availability varies according to trim and body style. So, what exactly are the bed lengths of the 2019 Ram 1500? Across the lineup, the full-size pickup is available with 8’, 6’4”, and 5’7” beds. Read on to learn more about each option and which trim levels and cabin styles pair with each bed length.
8-Foot (96 inches) Bed
The Ram 1500’s largest bed option available, the 8-foot (33 gallons) bed pairs exclusively with the Regular Cab body style. On 1500 models of the previous generation, the 8-foot bed was only available on Tradesman, Express and Big Horn trim levels. The 1500 now begins its fifth generation with the 8-foot bed available on nearly all trim levels, including the Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn and Limited models.
6-Foot 4-Inch (76 inches) Bed
Offered standard on Tradesman, HFE, Big Horn, Rebel and Laramie models, the 6’ 4” bed pairs with the Quad Cab body style. The 6’ 4” bed can also be paired with the Crew Cab on select models. This 6’ 4” bed / Crew Cab configuration is optional on Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn and Limited models.
5-Foot 7-Inch (67 inches) Bed
The shortest bed offered in the 1500 lineup, the 5’7” bed is the default bed style for Crew Cab models. The short bed / Crew Cab combo is offered standard on Laramie Longhorn and Limited models. The configuration is also offered as optional on Tradesman, Big Horn and Laramie models.
Quad Cab vs Crew Cab
Both Ram 1500 cabin styles are similar in that they feature a 4-door, 2-row layout with seating for up to 6 passengers. Though front-seat passengers enjoy the same space offerings in either cab configuration, rear passengers get noticeably more space to stretch out in the Crew Cab. The expanded cabin option offers 15.2 cubic feet more passenger space than the Quad Cab (132.4 cubic feet vs 117.2 cubic feet). The volume gap translates to 4.7 inches more rear legroom for Crew Cab passengers.
