2019 Minnesota State Fair New Food  

As summer comes to a close, the Minnesota State Fair returns as the midwest’s last warm-weather hurrah. The 12-day event brings in 2 million visitors annually, offering everything from musical performances, rides, attractions and most importantly — endless mouthwatering eats and treats. The Minnesota State Fair has spilled the list of new food items for 2019, and we’re delighted to see all the quirky snacks and delectable fried favorites coming our way. Out of the 65 new food item proposals submitted for this year’s fair, just 31 were selected. Read on to uncover a few of the fascinating new foods that will be offered at the 2019 Minnesota State Fair and where to find each.

Deep-Fried Dilly Dog

Location: Swine & Spuds, Warner Coliseum

Don’t let this deep-fried delicacy fool you – this is not your typical corndog. What you’re looking at here is a pickle stuffed with bratwurst and battered to perfection.

 

Build-Your-Own Burgers

Location: Blue Ox Burger Bar, Judson Avenue & Clough Street

New vendor alert! The Blue Ox Burger Bar lets you get hands-on with your sandwich with build-your-own hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers and breakfast sandwiches.

 

Cheesy Sriracha Funnel Cake Bites

Location: Funnel Cakes, Dan Patch Avenue

Cheese curds have had their moment in the spotlight. These deep-fried funnel cake bites are infused with a blend of savory cheeses and topped with cheddar and chives. Pair these tasty bits with the Sriracha aioli for a spicy treat.

 

Duck Drummies

Location: Giggles’ Campfire Grill, Lee Avenue & Cooper Street

Looking to mix it up? Take a quack at these new Duck Drummies. The duck wings are battered, seasoned, deep-fried and served with a tequila lime dipping sauce.

Location: The Hangar, North End

There’s a lot going on in this mound of mouth-watering goodness. Here’s the breakdown: pulled pork, elote, Oaxaca cheese, french-fried onions, fresh coleslaw and BBQ sauce – all served on a seasoned hash brown waffle.

 

Bada Bing Sandwich

Location: The Sandwich Shop, Clough Street

This tasty Italian-inspired flatbread sandwich comes loaded with ham, salami, melted mozzarella and tomatoes. Topped with fresh basil and a creamy balsamic vinaigrette, this sandwich makes for an offer you can’t refuse.

 

Halo Cone

Location: Rainbow Ice Cream, Grandstand

Guaranteed to be an Instagram favorite, the Halo Cone features a swirled combo of cotton candy and blue raspberry flavored soft serve sprinkled with a mix of candies and served in a halo of vanilla cotton candy.
